Phone Cases Now Available!

I am so excited about my new storefront! It's clean and quick and easy to use, and NOW... after so long trying, I have phone cases!!

There are five designs currently (shown above, click the picture to enlarge), with more on the way in the coming weeks (and they're not all for Apple). OH, and I'll have ipad cases soon as well. A couple are based on existing shirt designs and a couple aren't.....and one of those is just plain gross, but I couldn't resist.

So click HERE to check out the store front with my new phone designs, and all the other gear you need to not only survive the zombie apocalypse, but do so in style.

Now, quit surfing the net and get back to AMC's "The Walking Dead" marathon!

New Storefront!

Those of you that have been reading my ramblings for a while are aware that I have a storefront where you can find all kinds of ridiculous zombie-related (and some non-zombie) clothing and merchandise. That is still the case, with a few little changes and one very big change.

Cafepress is no longer my storefront host. I won't go into detail here, but suffice to say that I didn't agree with their new and "exciting" terms and conditions.

HOWEVER... I did some research and found a site that does the same thing and has received wonderful reviews from customers and shopkeepers alike for its fairness and general awesomeness.

I present to you the union between B'hold Designs and Redbubble.com!

I spent a great deal of time yesterday updating and uploading designs to the new storefront and I am very happy to say that the process thru their site was much quicker and easier than with the previous.

The one thing about Redbubble I wish was different is that they don't offer much of the merchandise Cafepress does (mugs, etc.), but they do have ipad and phone cases, so I'll finally be able to get into that market!

So, didn't get that gift you wanted for Christmas?? Then come on by the NEW B'hold Designs storefront! I've put out fresh candy and installed new whoopie cushion seats on all the toilets!

Get the gear, by clicking HERE!!!
And remember....We put the awesome in "holy crap, that's awesome!"

Holy Crap, What Day Is It??

Well it's been 24 days since I last updated the blog, and all I can say about that is... oops. To my loyal readers (all three of you), I apologize, but please know that the soldiers of B'HQ have never once stopped watching the perimeter for the undead... well, ok one time, but that was only because I made rice krispy treats and.. nevermind.

Here are my excuses. I have a full time design job in the day that was keeping me pretty busy all the way up until the Christmas break, AND I also freelance design at night. In an effort to make sure I was able to meet my break time goals (lay on the couch and collect dust), I busted my behind to get everything taken care of each night.

HOWEVER... things are percolating here at B'HQ and there's a big change on the way in the next few days. It's mostly behind the scenes stuff, but you'll see a difference, too. More on that later.

In the mean time, here's a new art piece fresh from my noggin for you to glance at, shrug and mutter "whatever" under your breath!

While we're waiting for the rest of season four of AMC's "The Walking Dead" to begin, I've been thinking back on the character of Hershel. As the resident Obi Wan, his character evolved nicely from grouchy old farmer in season two, to full-on voice-of-reason this season... kind of a Dale 2.0.

So I figured, what better way to honor him than to illustrate his severed head on the end of a sword? And thusly, I present to you, "Hershel's Head." Gaze upon it, fear for my sanity and enjoy. :)

Only One - John Butler Trio

I've never heard of the Austrailian rock group, the John Butler Trio, but I can tell from this video of their single "Only One" that they're people after my own heart... or brains, perhaps.

Check it out below, or read more about them at this link.

OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!

Warning: Spoiler's Ahead!

HOLY CRAP what an episode! Last night's midseason finale was an incredible non-stop roller coaster of action and emotions!

Almost immediately, the prison was confronted with the threat of Governor 2.0, along with his new pals and a freakin' tank!

After taking Herschel and Michonne prisoner, the Governor tries to take over the prison "peacefully", but he proves that he is a character that cannot change... he cannot be the kind of man he would need to be to co-exist, and he proved his point by taking Herschel's head, using Michonne's sword!

Then all hell breaks loose...and the Governor is KILLED!! Seriously, there is SO much to talk about that I can't run it all down.... if you haven't seen the episode, PLEASE stop what you're doing and watch it (I'm sure your boss won't mind), and don't forget to tune back in February 9th!!

Check out the lowdown from those involved:

Welcome Back, Crazy!

Warning: Spoilers Ahead!

Holy crap the Governor is BACK! The previous weeks episode was a nice examination at the kind of life the Governor wants to lead, but it didn't take long for the life he's MEANT to lead to come bubbling back up to the surface!

Martinez takes a golf club to the back of the noggin THEN gets fed alive to the pit walkers, poor Pete (a potential Rick) takes a blade in the back and then becomes the first member of "Sea World of the Dead," the aquarium replacement for "one-eyed Bri" on his wacky ascent to power.

It ends with the Governor standing ominously a safe distance outside the gates of the prison, and then seeing Michonne with Herschel.... he raises his gun to take aim... then blackout!

So what happened?? Why did he snap back to his old ways so quickly?? Let's hear it from the cast and crew themselves. Check it out:

What Do You Know About Zombies?

Imagine being on a game show and you're asked to "name something you know about zombies." There's probably 50 - 100 answers, right? You and I would do very well in that category, no doubt.

Now imagine that someone who isn't quite as informed on the undead is asked that question....

...it might go something like this:

I really like David Morrissey who plays The Governor on AMC's "The Walking Dead." He seems like a really cool guy. Recently he sat down and talked zombies and the Georgia humidity with Conan O'Brien!

The Walking Governor

Warning: Spoilers Ahead!

Ever have your computer freak out on you and do things it shouldn't be doing? What's the first thing you do (besides freak out and curse at it)? You reboot....and that's exactly what our old pal, The Governor, did.... (except he might have actually reformatted his entire harddrive).

It's seems the once-mighty dictator of Woodsbury went thru some tough times since he got his butt kicked at Club Cell Block, and I'm so glad the powers that be behind our favorite show let us see exactly what's been going on.

It seems one-eyed Phillip has gone from "I will destroy you all" to "who gives a shit" as he walked his bearded self thru the apocalypse, doing the bare minimum to escape being eaten here and there.

Finally, after who knows how many miles of walking, he found himself a new Penny (his zombie daughter, put down by Michonne). Now, all of a sudden, we have a happier, NICER Governor (albeit one with a fake name)! He's found a new family and appears to want to erase his past!

So.... do you buy it, or is the big jerk just playing a role until he can assume power again?

Listen to those involved and see what you think:

Band of the Dead

We're a family of band nerds. My wife and I met in college marching band, and both of our sons play in their school bands. We're also huge fans of zombies..... so what happens if you combine the two? You get a thing of beauty.

It seems Ferndale, Washington High School Marching Band took on a bunch of new members, but didn't have uniforms for them all, and couldn't afford more. So, what do you do when life gives you lemons? You make zombies.

Taking the old uniforms, they tattered and dirtied them up and created a zombie-themed marching show, starting with "Amazing Grace", quickly followed by undead band members attacking regular band members to the tune of "The Walking Dead" theme, "You Raise Me Up" (get it?), and eventually "Thriller."

This show earned them first in their division at the Auburn Veterans Day Marching Band Competition! Congrats band!

Dude! Cover Your Mouth!

Warning: Spoilers Ahead!

Man, oh man did Herschel have his hands full trying to keep people alive last night! There was so much coughing of phlegm and blood that there was a constant ooze all over the floor! Is there anything worse than working around highly contagious people that are dying and then coming back to life as walkers?

How about a massive walker herd finally pushing down the fences?

Rick and Carl bond as father and son over a round of zombie killing as the undead finally work their way in through the fences. Gone are the days of asking "how was school" while shooting baskets in the driveway. Now it's "glad to see you're still alive" while stabbing wriggling zombies in the head!

Meanwhile, sweet little Lizzie got even creepier with her "here kitty, kitty" approach to one of the flu victims resulting in nearly getting eaten...... and when the melee was over, she casually runs her boot through bloody ooze on the floor as she talks with Herschel... much like doodling on a notepad. Something is up with that kid.

Rick told Maggie and Herschel about Carol, but Daryl has yet to find out, Glenn almost died, and as the episode ended, just outside the prison walls we see....

THE GOVERNOR!

Hit the Road, Carol!

Holy crap, what an episode! (warning: spoilers ahead!)

While waiting for Daryl and the crew to get back from the vet hospital with supplies, Rick and Carol go on their own run for whatever they can find (food, medicine, whatever).

They find a lot of stuff (including a couple of survivors), but it's obvious there's an uncomfortable 'wall' between them.

Meanwhile, Daryl, Michonne, Tyreese and Bob are fighting walkers while retrieving meds. When it's discovered that Bob nearly gets himself killed for some liquor, Daryl takes it from him and gets ready to throw it. It's then that Bob tells him to stop and puts a hand on his gun!! Daryl gets in his face and it's not exactly comfortable on the car ride back.

But the twist of the episode is RICK BANISHES CAROL FROM THE GROUP!!!

Happy Halloween!

So I'm sitting around my house today... just kicking back watching some scary movies and eating the candy we're supposed to hand out today when it hits me... I haven't wished my loyal follower(s) a Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween. There ya go.

Also! There's some interesting news that I haven't reported yet:

1. AMC has renewed "The Walking Dead" for a 5th season! That means our lovable gang of zombie hunters will continue smashing rotted skulls for another year (should any of them survive this season)! Will that mean more mega-herds? Will Daryl survive? Will Carol and Daryl hook up? Will Michonne and Daryl hook up? Will the Governor ever reappear?? Will Herschel grow a new leg?? We'll just have to wait and see.

2. There is a trend right now that can only be described as disturbingly awesome, and that is.... zombie weddings! A couple in Ohio went full on undead recently for their special day. Zombie flower girl, zombie bride and groom.. the whole bit. Check out their photos HERE.

Looks like fun, right? Need a zombie wedding dress?? Check out THIS PLACE.

3. Are you new here? Would you like a little zombie 101? Check out this cool infographic I found HERE.

Now, if you go out and about tonight, be careful. There are people everywhere, and even though we here at B'HQ are keeping an eye on the perimeter, some of them just might be brain-eaters.

Holy Freaking Mega-Herd!

Warning: Spoilers Ahead!

Wow! What an episode....

Tyreese is so pissed that someone set his girlfriend on fire that he tried to beat up Rick (who goes overboard in his response), Glenn and Sasha have this nasty flu bug that's been flying around, Daryl and Michonne show a little chemistry, and we see the BIGGEST MEGA-HERD we've EVER seen on the show (I'm pretty sure Bob crapped his pants...seriously, look at his face)!

It worked out though, because Tyreese found a healthy outlet for his rage and launched himself into the zombie-slayer hall of fame!

Oh and by the way, CAROL is the one who torched Tyreese's woman!

If I had a dollar for everytime someone said to me "Help me, Brett!! I want to see your (celebrity name) zombie, but I can't find it on your website or blog" I'd be broke... because no one says that.

Infected!

Warning: Spoilers Ahead!

Oh, that Patrick. One minute he feels like he might throw-up, and the next, he's making a buffet out of some poor member of Club Cell Block who sleeps WAY too deep for someone living in the throws of a zombie apocalypse.

As if zombies and body odor weren't bad enough, it looks like it's flu season for our heroes! Patrick started a chain reaction of undead and they lost a lot of people. Meanwhile, someone is feeding the walkers at the fence, and you know what happens when you feed stray zombies... they just don't leave.

Now their numbers are so big that they're coming closer and closer to brining the fence down! The one good thing about it is that it forces "farmer Rick" back into his natural leadership role... and he strapped his gun back on his hip.

Check out this run down of the episode straight from the mouths of everyone involved.

Is This the SWEETEST Ride for the Zombie Apocalypse?

When the zombies come, people are going to be driving all over the place and, most likely, clogging up the main roads. The hope of your familys survival may very well rest "off the beaten path!" Can your '98 Honda Civic with a loose muffler handle high water, rough terrain, or deep snow? Then you might want to get yourself one of these...

Introducing the RESCUE from Ghe-O Motors of Romania. A 3.2 ton truck, it boasts use of either gas or diesel. Designed primarily for rescue work, it might just be the perfect vehicle for your traveling band of survivors.

Not only does it look cool, but it sports a 163 gallon water tank, pneumatic airbags on the wheels that inflate to provide better buoyancy in the water, additional wheels at the back to catch the truck if it happens to tip during near vertical ascents, holds a place for a medical stretcher, AND can seat up to eleven people!

Creepy Clara and Farmer Rick

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

My all-time favorite tv program, AMC's "The walking Dead" returned last Sunday to a HUGE 16+million viewed season four premiere, and my how things have changed.

You may remember at the end of season three, Rick told the prison group he was not their governor, and he apparently meant it. Things are now decided on by a council, made up of a handful of the original group (plus Sasha), and Rick is outside playing farmer to a make-shift farm, complete with crops and some livestock.

The Woodbury people seem to be well-adjusted to their new home, and Daryl is living the rock star life as everyone sees him as the awesome guy he really is.

In fact, everything seems just peachy at "Club Cell Block," which is reason enough to cringe in anticipation of what has got to be right around the corner...and it all started with Creepy Clara, and a simple trip to the PX.!

Oh! And Herschel found a prosthetic leg, Carl has friends near his own age, Beth's boyfriend gets eaten and she acts like it's no big deal, people (and pigs) are getting sick, there are TONS of fence zombies (and one has bleeding eyes), Carol is secretly teaching knife-use to kids because Rick is against it ??!?...

Well, I could go on with my thoughts and interpretation of the episode, but why not hear it from the cast and crew themselves?

8 Things...

As Season Four of AMC's "The Walking Dead" gets geared up to start THIS SUNDAY we're all super excited and, if you're like me, you're more than a little nervous. That show is famous for "keeping it real" by killing off unexpected members of the gang. Some might say even Rick isn't safe, though I'd be really, REALLY surprised if he was made into walker chow.

But, even if we don't know what to expect, our little band of heroes probably do, right?. All their characters have changed and evolved as they've become used to living in a post-apocalyptic wonderland. In fact, there can't be that many life lessons left, can there?

PopSugar seems to think so. Check out their short video, "8 Things the Walking Dead Characters Should Know By Now."

Now THAT'S a Zombie Horde!

Congratulations are in order for everyone involved in the 6th Annual New Jersey Zombie Walk for setting a world record for largest ever!

This year, the zombie walk was paired with the "Stronger than the Storm" campaign, dedicated to showing the resilience of their community in the wake of Hurrican Sandy.

New Jersey Zombie Walk creator, Jason Meehan was quoted as saying "The zombie walk sends a message that the storm didn't knock us down - we are unbreakable."

With an official adjudicator for Guinness World Records watching from atop the Convention Hall, a total of 9,592 people decked out as undead went shuffling into the record books. No word on anyone being devoured.

Undead Heisenberg

Between the demise of AMC's "Breaking Bad" (argued by many to be one of the greatest shows of  all time), and the recent mash-up video by College Humor combining both it AND "The Walking Dead"(argued by me to be the greatest show ever), I found myself inspired to take to the old zombification machine once again.

For those of you that don't know, deep within the bowels of B'HQ sits an amazing advance in the world of human/zombie relations. The B'hold Designs Zombification Machine (patent pending) is more than a bunch of wires duct taped to an old washing machine and powered by an Atari 6400 we found at a yard sale. It's a physical forecast, if you will, of the visual possibilities on that dark day when Uncle Leon rises from the grave and tries to eat your face.

So, without further ado, I present the "Heisenberg Zombie!"

I hope that instead of sadness at the passing of "Breaking Bad," this image of fictional Walter White turned into a moaning undead will instead bring hope and joy as we jump up and down with childlike glee for Season Four of "The Walking Dead" which starts ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!
