The Walking Toy Story Dead

I loved the movie Toy Story (all of them, actually), and you all are well aware that I am an absolute slave to AMC's The Walking Dead. So why not combine them?

Someone with genius equal to that of the "your peanut butter is in my chocolate" guy did just that and re-worked the Toy Story opening with Walking Dead graphics and music.

The result is simply magical. Enjoy.

The Match-Up We've All Been Waiting For

In today's zombie-infested society, it's got to be tough to constantly come up with new and interesting twists on the apocalypse. Story lines with characters we can't take our eyes off of... drama so thick you can cut it with a machete... even hidden comparisons to the hierarchy and conflicts within the multitude of cultural and financial backgrounds... all have been fair game when writing a zombie flick. Regardless of what your sub-text may be, it's got to be interesting, and visually and intellectually stimulating.

Or does it?

Introducing a new film starring former professional wrestler, Rowdy Roddy Piper in what could be the role he was born to play: Pro-Wrestlers vs. Zombies!

House...of the Dead

I have never watched the tv show House, although I really like Hugh Laurie and have particularly enjoyed his cameo's on Family Guy ("House. Road house. That too.").

Because of that, I'm just now discovering the great zombie dream he had in an episode back in 2011! Check it out below, and while you're at it, check out my zombified image of Dr. House, which seems particularly relevant now that I've found this clip.

And let me add this... I want to see Hugh Laurie in a zombie film! This short little bit has opened my eyes to him being a natural born zombie slayer! Someone out there less lazy than me please start a petition now...and go ahead and sign it for me while you're at it.

It's full on zombie CAKE, yes cake! Made from Rice Krispie treats, this horrifically amazing piece of edible art was created by the Artisan Cake Company and showcases amazing detail all the way down to the jiggly jello brains.

Seriously, this thing deserves some kind of trophy.... maybe a cake made to look like a trophy?

Cargo

I found something pretty cool today.

This is Cargo, a short film directed by Ben Howling and Yolanda Ramke, and a finalist in Tropfest Australia 2013. It's a touching story of a zombie-bitten father rushing to find someone to care for his infant daughter before it's too late. Knowing he'll be turning soon, he devises a clever way to keep himself moving and searching after the infection has taken over.

It's sad, yet hopeful.... and all without saying a word.

Close Encounters of the 30 Odd Kind

We here at B'hold Designs were sitting around one evening, reading comic books and playing pictionary, when there was a knock at the roof. Thinking if might be Santa finally bringing us that pony we've been asking for we quickly rushed to the highest level of our facility. Imagine our surprise when we saw our favorite spaceship driving oddballs, Jeff Belanger and the rest of the crew of 30 Odd Minutes!!

It seems they were in need of repairs and had no choice decided to ask us to help!

Yes, there's a new high tech looking gizmo in the Mother Ship, and it's got our name all over it... (seriously, we carve our name into the bottom of everything we design... it's also where we put our gum).

If you're not familiar, we've worked with the awesome people of 30 Odd Minutes before (see the story here, and here, and here, and here). They do a weekly internet and television show about investigation into the weird and creepy. It's great!

Season Finale!

Warning: Spoilers Below!

Yesterday, my son informed me that the facebook page for AMC's "The Walking Dead" posted that 27 people would die in last night's season finale, and they were not kidding!

After stabbling Milton and leaving him to turn in the room in which he was holding Andrea, the Governor and his army of frightened survivors that have never fired a weapon before stormed the prison and were greeted by an ambush that sent them running (well, driving) for the hills!

While the prison crew were celebrating, the Governor stopped the people running and snapped, firing on and killing most of the aforementioned 27 people!! He then got in the truck with his two remaining wide-eyed henchmen and drove away, never to be seen again in the episode.

Meanwhile, Andrea struggles to pick up a pair of pliers with her feet to free herself while hoping that Milton would hold on long enough to keep from eating her face off.

Rick, Daryl and Michonne discover the carnage left in the Governor's wake, and find a survivor who then tells Tyreese what happened. The gates open and, at the end of the episode, the remaining Woodbury people pack up and move to the prison (I'm not sure why it didn't happen the other way around).

But what about Andrea? Well, after struggling to pick up the pliers (while stopping every few seconds to stare at Milton instead of escaping), she works her way out as he rises from the dead, and put him down. Unfortunately, she was bitten, and while a crying Michonne kept her company, she shot herself. Andrea is no more.

Oh! And guess who needs therapy? Little Carl! He showed himself to be a chip off the old Shane as he gunned down a frightened Woodbury teen retreating from the battle zone. The kid was putting his weapon down, but Carl didn't want to make the same mistake as he did with the zombie that killed Dale back in season 2.
