Now that Halloween has come and gone, and the sugar rush is nearly over, I can finally start looking at the Christmas displays that popped up all over town a month ago without squinting in confusion.

There are a lot of things about this time of year that are special... bone-chilling cold... sunset at 4:00 pm... bone-chilling cold... but the best of all is the classic film "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation."

Every year we watch the Griswolds as they deal with a house full of dysfunctional guests in an attempt to have the perfect Christmas. Never has a failed attempt at happiness been so hilarious.
