We learned some things about our favorite zombie hunters on last night's episode of AMC's "The Walking Dead."
1. Rick is bonkers. For some reason he's seeing Lori every once in a while and, and looney as that is, he knows it is... so there's hope he can make his way back.
2. Glenn the former pizza-delivery-boy / walker-bait is more than willing to fill the role of leader in Rick and Daryl's absence. Willing is one thing, but is he ready? I'm not so sure.
3. Daryl has evolved beyond Merle... by a long shot. No longer is he willing to be bullied by his big brother. When they encounter some people struggling with the undead on a bridge, Merle laughs... but Daryl steps in and saves the day. When it's all over, Merle wants to rob them and Daryl won't let it happen.
4. The Governor is waaaaay deeper into the dark side than I originally thought. While telling Andrea he just wants peace, he sneaks away and goes postal on the prison, standing strongly and SMILING as bullets whiz past his head. But the ultimate in cruelty? A couple of his lackeys drive a truck full of walkers thru the prison gates, creating a whole new problem.
During the melee, Axle goes down, and Daryl returns just in time to save Rick, who has run out of ammo and is surrounded by the undead!
Here's a video of the cast and crew discussing the episode, and what it means to their characters. Check it out:
