Zombie Burlesque

Ever wonder what a mash up of "Cabaret" and zombies would look like? Me either. But thank goodness, now we'll NEVER have to worry about it.

In Las Vegas (where else?), there's a show featuring just that. Titled "Zombie Burlesque", it takes place in the 1950s, during a time of an actual truce between humans and zombies.

Not to be considered tame, there some singing and dancing by "sexy" zombies, including a bit where the ladies pull some male audience member up to the stage and sing "I Just Want to Make Love to You", while later, a male zombie is taught that he can eat a particular body part without being considered gay.

You heard me.

There's a bunch more info on names of actors, directors, etc in the original article HERE if you really want that info.

Back in the Saddle

B'HQ is back up and running!

Many thanks to you all for your patience and apathy during this trying time. The lawn's been mowed and all the TP has been removed from the trees and we are back in business!

What could possibly make this day better? How about the fact that we're LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AWAY FROM THE RETURN OF AMC'S "THE WALKING DEAD!"

Check out this teaser....

Nothing to See Here...

And I mean that literally.

B'HQ (aka my website) is currently experiencing technical difficulties, so if you stop by, you might notice that the lawn looks like it hasn't been mowed and there are a few dozen newspapers on the porch.

But fear not! My army of four-eyed photoshop nerds are on the case and order will soon be restored! Ever see the movie "Revenge of the Nerds?" Remember the music montage where they're cleaning up the old house? Yeah. It'll look like that.

In the meantime, it might interest you to know that my BRAND NEW SHOP is still open and ready for business! While I've seen some foot traffic and curious looks, I haven't had many actual sales. I'm close to putting on a sandwich board and walking up and down the cyber-boardwalk while ringing a bell. So please.... PLEASE.... come by and check the place out, and don't be afraid to drop a few thousand dollars while you're there. You might regret it later, but I sure won't.

Even Daryl Can Be Spooked!

You may be familiar with a certain "Walking Dead" superfan by the name of Nick Santonastasso. He has an impressive vine page where he documents his zombie pranks and has half a million followers.

Santonastasso was born with a rare syndrome called Hanhart, and has only one arm and no legs, but lives by his twitter tagline... "No excuses."

AMC flew him to Japan (where the stars are promoting the second half of season four), to pull one of his epic zombie pranks on the man himself.....Mr. Norman Reedus.

Check it out:

Rest In Peace, Professor

I know this isn't exactly zombie news, but if you were ever a fan of "Gilligan's Island" (as I was) then no doubt you've heard about, and are bummed by the passing of the beloved professor.

The man could make anything from washing machines to ham radios using only coconuts and bamboo, but he couldn't fix a two foot hole in a boat. Maybe that was on purpose. I mean he was stranded with two majorly attractive women! Why would you want to leave?!

He joins the rest of the cast (save for Ginger and Mary Ann) on the "eternal 3 hour tour." Life goes on, but I hate how it has to take my childhood icons with it.

"Afterlife with Archie"

Remember the Archie comics? Poor ginger Archie had his hands full juggling the affections of the beautiful Betty and Veronia while flipping Reggie the early 70's version of the middle finger and watching his pal Jughead eat everything in sight.

Now he's watching Jughead eat everyONE in sight...

That's right. Jughead's a zombie.

In what I consider a truly awesome idea, not only will Archie be jumping on the undead bandwagon and fighting off the undead, but he'll be doing it in the classic artwork style of the early comics!

Check out the entire article from the Washington Post HERE.

Film Poster Designs!

About 2 and a half years ago I wrote a blog about what I considered the ultimate design gig. It described my quest to find work designing posters for film and how I had just had my first success with that... an independent zombie flick called "Zombie Ed."

Unfortunately, that poster didn't open the design doors that I had hoped it would (nothing against the director, Ren. She did all she could to help me).

BUT! I didn't give up. I kept knocking on doors, submitting my work and taking rejection after rejection until finally.....FINALLY.. someone gave me a shot.

Out in California, Magic Elevator Films took a chance on an unknown four-eyed designer and gave me an assignment, and we've had a great working relationship ever since!

Shown above are three of the five posters I've had the opportunity to do for them, and my contact says more are on the way! Many, many thanks to Berenika and Jeff. I appreciate you both so much.

Yes, thanks to them, and my new storefront (and the in-progress reworking of the B'hold Designs Website) I can say that 2014 is looking pretty okie dokie for B'hold Deigns, and I am very thankful.

Now, don't get me wrong... there is always room for improvement.... especially with my storefront. Unfortunately, Redbubble doesn't get as much traffic as cafepress (from what I understand), so I've had a difficult time getting it off the ground, but that's ok! I'll just keep knocking and knocking on people's doors... at all hours of the night if necessary... until all have heard of and/or purchased their own B'hold Designs Ultimate Camouflage... NOW also available as a PHONE CASE and an IPAD CASE!

There's a lot going on right now, but please, please remember that our first priority at B'HQ is lunch. BUT, immediately after that, however, we're watching the horizon for the undead and keeping you, and the rest of the world safe should granny come marching home again.

Poster Art for the Return of The Walking Dead!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I sincerely hope that this year is brighter, happier and filled with more joy than you could ever imagine. And what better way to experience that then by watching a group of people suffer in misery?

That's right, I'm talking about AMC's "The Walking Dead", which is due to return February 9th! The official poster art has been released and it looks like poor Rick and Carl are on their own, at least for a while. But it's not just them! If you remember, most everyone is scattered after the attack by the Governor 2.0.

I'm predicting that Tyreese (with the young girls that saved his life) will find, or be found by Carol. Not knowing that she's the one that killed his girlfriend (in the interest of stopping a flu epidemic), he will grow very close to her, and eventually when he does find out, he won't be able to decide whether to forgive her, or put a shovel upside her head.

Hang in there zombie fans. Only one more month to go! Check out the trailer for the second half of season four below.

And don't forget to stop by the BRAND SPANKING NEW B'hold Designs Storefront, where the merchandise is mildly amusing and greatly disgusting.
