Interactive Zombie Adventure Video!

When I was a kid, I loved the "create your own adventure" books. It actually made me nervous to read tales of epic daring-do with the knowledge that my decisions affected the outcome, but it was a great way to get me to read and re-read the same story and make different choices.

Imagine my delight when I found a choose your adventure zombie video! Brought to you by Hell Pizza, this is a cool little story filled with potential life-changing decisions, pizza and a damsel in distress in a low-cut top! What more could you need?

(fyi.... this won't work on iPad, iPod, or iPhone.)

Check it out:

Wedding Portraits of the Dead

Awww...  what's more squishy with good feelings than a wedding? How about a wedding spent protecting your beloved from the undead? After all, nothing says "I love you" like smashing the skull of the priest moments after the ceremony, right?

Check out these great engagement photos of Harlan Guthrie and Holly Young of Canada (photos by Alex Lee).

The Walking Dumb?

Laurie Holden, who played Andrea on AMC's "The Walking Dead" has found her next role to be opposite Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels in "Dumb And Dumber To!"

She'll play Adele Pichlow, the well-to-do wife of a doctor who is up to no good, and plans to use Harry and Lloyd to cover her tracks.

This is not her first rodeo with Mr. Carrey, either. She appeared opposite him in Frank Darabont's "The Majestic." Mr. Darabont, you may remember was the season one director of "The Walking Dead."

No word on if Lloyd will fantasize about her resulting in her having headlights for boobs.

Spinoff!!

Many times, when a television show is a mega-hit, the powers that be will try to continue that success with a spinoff. Sometimes it works ("Cheers/Fraiser"), and sometimes it doesn't ("Friends/Joey").

This time around it's AMC who is creating a 'companion series' for "The Walking Dead!" Personally, I'm excited about this, and I believe it will succeed. Why?

1. It's the most popular show on television for adults 18-49.

2. It's the top-rated scripted show on tv

...but most importantly.....

Because it's different from other spinoffs in that it doesn't pin all of it's potential success on one popular star. In a world infested with the undead, the number of stories that can be told is only limited by the number of people on the planet.

I would love to see another vantage point of the same situation, and truly hope that it does well.

Slated for 2015, it's going to help AMC fill in the gaps as they lose "Breaking Bad" this year and "Mad Men" the next... both wildly popular shows.

No other info at this time as to characters, or even settings, but I'll definitely keep you posted as those come to light.

Walker Stalker Con

Not wanting to be outdone by the gaggles of superheroes and television characters at Comic-Con, zombies now have their OWN official gathering!

Walking Stalker Con is coming to Atlanta November 1 - 3 and will host a long list of cast members from (say it with me) "The Walking Dead"... as well as other horror/sci-fi personalities!

Who from "The Walking Dead" is coming you ask? Oh, only the lovable redneck zombie-killer himself... Mr. Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon)! Also on deck is Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori), Laurie Holden (Andrea), Chandler Riggs (Carl), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), IronE Singleton (T-Dog) and Melissa McBride (Carol). There will also be some minor characters including the young lady who played the Governor's zombie daughter!

There will be meet-and-greets, a "zombie bash" (in costume) and they're selling exclusive Daryl Dixon vinyl figures! You can pre-order them here.

Tickets are on sale now, so go my co-fans of all things undead - fly to the interweb and scarf them up before they're all gone!

Aim high. Run fast.

Bring the Teacher An Appendage

Remember not so long ago when I introduced you to the teacher who uses zombies to teach middle school geography? Apparently that idea is catching on like the undead virus itself!

The online class platform, Instructure, is capitalizing on the popularity of zombies in a big way. By reaching out to UC Irvine, and AMC (our pals that host "The Walking Dead"), they have successfully created a partnership for a FREE MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) based on the world's most amazing show.... "The Walking Dead."

That's right... four faculty members have officially signed to examine social structures, public health, physics and math... all based on a zombie apocalypse. Instructure co-founder Brian Whitmer gives an awesome example.... "A little girl gets her head decapitated in one swing... in physics, could that have really happened?"

Other topics include public health and the CDC in an apocalyptic world, and mathematics by modifying existing equations for how disease spreads to account for zombie mechanics.

Whitmer goes on to say: "We kept talking about doing a pop culture course and 'The Walking Dead' kept coming up, so we cold-called AMC, and they said they'd love to partner, and they'll provide clips."

Cool, right? I guess now we can officially add "brains" to the list of back-to-school supplies!
