Resident Evil Coming to Japan

There's going to be an Raccoon City-sized outbreak in Japan this summer, and it's located at Universal Studios.

According to Famitsu, "Resident Evil The Real" will be an attraction held at the park's "Palace Theater" in USJ's New York area. Each visitor to the five or ten minute long attraction will carry a 700 gram "model gun" containing a limited number of bullets. The goal? You guessed it. Shoot as many undead as you can and try to save mankind.

The stops have been pulled out on the FX as the creatures, including the famous Licker, is promised to look incredibly realistic.

Great Zombie Shelter or Death Trap?

Check this out. Back in 1969, somewhere in Serbia, this little house was built on a rock in the middle of a river. It's just a little one bedroom place and has reportedly survived many floods and extreme winds.

Apparently it came to national attention after photographer Irene Becker's photos of it were featured last year as National Geographic's "Photo of the Day."

Now, my question... is this the ultimate zombie shelter? It's small, yes, but being surrounded by moving water would keep any shuffling undead from getting to you. Food wouldn't be an issue, as long as you wouldn't go crazy eating only fish every day, and for the potty? I suppose you just hang your bottom out the window and let the current do your flushing.

OR is it a death trap? As I mentioned, it's been reported to have withstood floods, but how high is the water level we're talking about? The structure might be alright, but you can't exactly stay there if it's completely submerged. And what about the times when the water is extremely low? It can't exactly wash away the zombies when it's only ankle deep. Also, I don't know the climate over there, but it doesn't look to be much of a shelter from extreme cold.

So, shelter or death trap? Need more info to help you decide? It has it's own facebook album HERE, and it's own blog HERE.

Let me know what you come up with.

Zombie Parkour

What do you get when you cross spider-man with zombies? Zombie Parkour. If there were a zombie apocalypse, and the undead actually could travel this way... we would be royally screwed.

Check it out:

Of course, whenever I see parkour, I think of Michael Scott's ridiculous attempt on NBC's The Office.

Dig it:

I'm a Zombie, Maybe...

As we all make preparations for the coming zombie apocalypse, one item that often gets overlooked while stocking up on bottled water and granola is a great playlist! After all, what good is running from the undead if you don't have some inspiring tunes to 'soundtrack' your situation?

Check out this parody of Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe called I'm a Zombie, Maybe by Ohyeahitsdani. It's a lively little tune that will no doubt keep you toe-tapping while you're being ripped to pieces.

Enjoy.

World War Z 'Virus' Spreads

We're getting closer and closer to the premiere of World War Z, the film adaptation of the amazing zombie novel by Max Brooks.

While it's nice to have a big name Hollywood type tied to a zombie film, I'm really hoping that Brad Pitt didn't rip Max's work apart in an attempt to present his own 'vision' for the project. Don't get me wrong, I'll definitely go see it, and who knows? Maybe, just maybe, it's not that far off.... and I say that because of their recent viral marketing campaign.

People always remember where they were when they hear about, or are affected by global events, and a zombie apocalypse would definitely be no different. That's what this viral campaign seems to be addressing and I have to admit, I'm kind of excited by it. Seeing the moment the everyday person is affected in various walks of life is really, really.... well.. REAL.

Here are are few of the videos released. Check'em out.

"The Walking Dead" Kicks More Than Just Zombie Butt

If you're like me, you love AMC's The Walking Dead, but encounter people daily who either don't watch it, have never heard of it, or just give you that look of superiority and infer that you're not quite grown up yet (that last one pisses me off).

Those kind of interactions can be quite depressing and make you wonder if you're the only one in the world that really watches the show. Well, wonder no longer...

Yahoo published a listing of this years "winners and losers" in cable television, and guess which column Rick and all the other zombie butt kickers sit? Say it with me... WINNERS.

According to Yahoo, this last season of The Walking Dead averaged 11.4 MILLION viewers, including 7.3 MILLION in the all so longed for adults-under-50 demographic.

What's that mean exactly? It means that Team Rick kicked the asses of other shows like Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, and AMERICAN IDOL (Yo! They're in it to win it, dawg!).

For a cable series to beat the crap out of network television is a huge deal and it gives a little peace of mind to you and I as we deal with the MINORITY of people who refuse to embrace the awesomeness of that program.

Aim high. Run fast. Take THAT.

Zombie School!

If you've ever thought about being a zombie on AMC's The Walking Dead (and who hasn't?), then you'd better pack your Hello Kitty lunch pail, because you're going back to school!

Co-Executive Producer and Special FX Makeup Designer Greg Nicotero takes us waaaaaaaaay back behind the scenes to Zombie 101, and a little exercise known as "kill the cameraman."

Enjoy.

Michonne - Jedi Master?

We all know that Michonne from AMC's The Walking Dead is one tough chick with a katana, but how would she be with a lightsaber?

Fortunately for us, there are some pretty skilled video people in the world that like both The Walking Dead and Star Wars, so we don't have to wonder any longer.

Really, Really Bap Lip Reading

"Bad Lip Reading" is an awesome channel on YouTube that takes popular shows, movies, etc and interprets them as if you were... well... a bad lip reader.

Here's a bit from AMC's The Walking Dead. I found it pretty danged funny... especially Carl's one word response to Carol.

Enjoy.
