More Zombie Apocalypse Training

First, the CDC posts instructions on surviving a zombie apocalypse, then the Dept. of Homeland Security does something similar… both explained as "tongue in cheek" ways of promoting readiness for actual disasters.

Now it seems law enforcement and the military and preparing for undead as well.

Security firm HALO Corp. will incorporate zombies into a disaster/crisis scenario at the Company's annual Counter-Terrorism Summit in San Diego geared to more than 1,000 military, law enforcement, and medical personnel.

Training will commence on a 44 acre island, where zombies will harass participants as they try to do their jobs. According to HALO, it's meant to challenge those experts in working under extreme circumstances where people "become crazed and violent, creating widespread fear and disorder."

Of course it's all in good fun, and HALO is merely jumping on the zombie popularity bandwagon… there are no real zombies....right?

Welcome to the "Zombie PX"

A new business has opened up in Palmyra, PA and it's geared for the zombie survivalist in all of us!

Zombie PX considers itself a zombie apocalypse supply store and carries everything from non-perishable food and gas masks to water bricks (stackable containers that can be filled with 3.5 gallons of water).

Along with survival gear, the store also carries zombie themed items like shirts, mugs, and "Walking Dead" action figures!

Someone sat down to interview three of the stars of Resident Evil: Retribution... Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, and Boris Kodjoe... and asked them a great question. Who would be on your zombie apocalypse dream team?

Trapped at Wal-mart  on a crowded Sunday afternoon with cranky children? Ask THEM which cartoon character they'd like escorting them thru the seas of undead. They'll STILL be discussing it long after you've checked out and started the trip home.

Interviewing people for a job?? Talk about the greatest interview question of all time!! Nothing can give you insight to a person's brain than what supermodel they'd like riding shotgun thru the rotting streets of zombie town!

Homeland Security: "The Zombies Are Coming!"

Relax, they're not serious. This declaration is actually part of a public health campaign to encourage preparation for actual disasters. They're thinking, if you're prepared for a zombie attack, then you'll probably be ready for about anything else that comes along.

This comes on the heels of the CDC's social media campaign for the same purposes.

Encouraged to use the threat of the undead, emergency planners are trying to motivate people to prepare for real disasters… hurricanes, earthquakes, etc. Some of their recommendations include keeping a change of clothes, water, medicine, and flashlights.

So, let me get this straight. All over the world we hear stories of this new "bath salt" drug turning users into brainless, flesh-eating ghouls, and now both the CDC and Homeland Security have "jokingly" told us to prepare for the zombie apocalypse? Could they know something we don't?

Better grab the bottled water and tylenol while you can. Oh, and maybe one of THESE, too.

Sweet Rides for the Zombie Apocalypse…Terminator Edition

Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger just picked up a new truck. Apparently the traditional vehicles that the average person drives weren't large enough to handle picking up the dry cleaning, or running to store for power bars and whey protein.

The former Terminator, a long time fan of military-grade trucks, just dropped a cool $250,000 on the customized Mercedes-Benz Unimog pickup.

These aren't sold by Mercedes in the U.S., but are used around the world in construction, forestry and even the military. Apparently they're really good off-road.

I wouldn't run to check ebay for one yet, as they aren't legal on American roads and can barely top 60 mph even if they were.
